Hospital Staff to Give Their Views for Walking and Cycling Plan

Staff from Kettering General Hospital have been invited to join Brightwayz at a face to face event on Thursday 9 December. This takes place from 11am to 2pm in the Zone - the staff area.

The Brightwayz team will be providing information about the Kettering Walking and Cycling plan and finding out views from staff members. As well as a physical map and the chance for a chat about journeys to work there will be a QR code to link to the Commonplace heatmap, so staff can easily complete the survey online and share with friends and family.

This will all be fed into the development of the Walking and Cycling plan which is being written by a team from WSP, North Northants Council, West Northants Council and Brightwayz social enterprise with the involvement of the local community. The plan will provide a long term basis for investment in walking and cycling infrastructure in the town, with priority actions identified. This in turn will enable North Northants Council to bid for government funding to enable the plans to start to be implemented.

Alongside the information stand, the Brightwayz team will also be running an 'active travel gift stand' for hospital staff with walk, cycle and scoot-related products for sale, enabling staff and their families to have safer, more comfortable local journeys.

As Brightwayz is supporting KGH in the delivery of its travel plan, there will be further similar events over the next few months such as free cycle repairs. Staff and visitors can see information about these events on the KGH social media or the BrightwayzUK facebook page.
